About the charities and organisations featured on the Website
The Website allows you to donate to any of the charities and organisations listed on this Website. Every charity or organisation featured has an agreement with ploink! authorising ploink! to collect donations and reclaim Gift Aid on its behalf under the UK government's Gift Aid scheme. Charities not listed on the website may be suggested via the search facility. Ploink! will then contact the charity asking them to register and to obtain permission to collect donations and gift aid on their behalf. Charities and organisations are accepted at ploink’s! discretion. Charities must be registered with the Charity Commission for ploink! to reclaim Gift Aid on their behalf. It is your responsibility to check that you are donating to the organisation you intended.
Donations will only be refunded to you with the prior written consent of the charity to whom it has been made. Before a donation is refunded, the relevant charity must agree that ploink! may deduct the amount to be refunded from subsequent payments to be made by ploink! to the charity. Where no further payments are due to be made to such charity within one month of the refund being made to you, ploink! reserves the right to invoice the charity for the amount of the refund and the charity must agree to settle that invoice within one month of the date of the invoice.
Use of your donation
Ploink! is not responsible for any dissatisfaction you may have regarding the recipient organisation's use of any donation you may make through the Website. Please note that the recipient organisation reserves the right to use your donation for its general purposes. Ploink! cannot guarantee that funds will be earmarked for a particular appeal, unless specifically stated by the recipient organisation itself.
Nominating a charity of the month
Registered users are able to nominate charities for charity of the month. You may only nominate one charity per month.
Voting for a charity of the month
Every time you donate the coins in a piggy bank to a charity you will be eligible to vote for one of the nominated charities of the month. If you choose not to use your vote at that time then your votes accrue, ready for you to use them when you're ready.
Ploink! charges a transaction fee on every donation made on the Website. The fee is currently 10% of the gross donation, which is the donation plus any Gift Aid reclaimed (minus 10p charge per piggy bank of coins donated to the charity). When a donation is not eligible for Gift Aid reclaim, the 10% fee applies to the donation (minus 10p charge per piggy bank of coins paid to the charity) alone.
Ploink! retains 10p from the coins in a piggy bank that are donated to the charity, whether the piggy bank has the minimum amount of 99p, or the maximum amount of £20. This charge is taken from the gross donation, which is the donation plus any Gift Aid reclaimed.
Unauthorised card use
When a donation is made on the Website the transaction is final and not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules.
